The brief was to create a venue which could act as a games room and also as an adult entertainment area. The client expressed a need for the entertaining area to have ‘dramatic impact’ and ‘wow factor’ for guests as they enter. As the remainder of this home had ample natural light in all rooms, this area would be dark and have atmospheric lighting.
Some walls were fitted with dark glass covering and others fashioned with fabric. Comfort seating was covered in the same fabric as the walls. An XL high gloss black tile was used for the flooring. The backlit bar was a bespoke creation, which provided all the amenities necessary to entertain and interacted with lighting.
A 60inch 3D television was mirrored with a fish tank. Lutron lighting provided ambience for all scenarios. Control4 enabled control of all audio/visual and climate control functions. High specification ceiling speakers delivered music directly from the television or an audio library.
The centrepiece of this impressive space was the glass, see-through, colour changing pool table, which is enjoyed using a chrome cue stick and glass triangle.
“I don’t want to have to leave my house to enjoy a film and I want to be able to hold cinema nights for close friends and family”. This home cinema was designed and installed using this guideline, within a modestly sized space of 6m x 5m, which was partitioned from the creation of a new basement.
An intimate, cosy setting comfortably seated 6 XL VIP reclining comfort chairs. Interior decor consisted of feature walls fashioned in fabric and flooring covers in luxury dark carpet. A bespoke ceiling design, contained cove lighting and down lighters which illumined the fabric coverings of the feature walls and worked as part of a Lutron home lighting solution.
Specified equipment were a fixed projector screen, 3D projector, extremely powerful concealed wall speakers and 2 subwoofers, which were each powered by separate amplifiers. A video server granted access to a library of high definition movies, which could be selected though on screen menus. An iPad with a Control4 app controlled all equipment and functions.
Following a refurbishment to their personal residence in London, our client instructed the design and refurbishment of their master suite in the country of their origin. The remote location, within woodlands, inspired the design concept.
An awareness of the surrounding natural elements guided the first step in the design process. Our aim was to embody the essence of the woodlands with interior simplicity, comfort and practicality.
“I want to be able to stay up there and relax, reflex and clear my mind, for days without anyone bothering me. I like modern, but not ultra modern”, were the instructions given to Ashville Inc from an International Company Director who works an 18 hour, 7 day week.
The proposed master suite covered an entire top floor of a large family home. This provided the prefect blank canvas to create an area which fulfilled the clients needs by incorporating modern design, innovative convenience technology and luxury furnishing
